![]() ![]() In places where debuffs aren't exactly necessary and you are only using abilities and DPSing, 2-handers are better. Nex, Vorago and Kalphite King are the main examples I can think of where dual wield (particularly Seismics) have the advantage. Dual wield is better where you need to debuff the opponent or wear a shield. However, they each have situations where they are better than the other. Like range, its a very small difference between the two. Sonic wave also has 1.75% more ability damage in the same amount of time than Concentrated Blast. Has Sonic Wave, which increases accuracy of the next attack by 10%. I'd pick dual wield in almost all situations.įaster debuffs, since auto-attack speed is higher. There are very few cases in which you'd need a 2 hander's range over dual wield's DPS. The differences are very minuscule between 2 handers and dual wield for range's case. If you need a shield or want to deal more damage, pick dual wield. More options for weapons, also usually the cheaper one. Has Dazing Shot, which can decrease the opponent's accuracy slightly. Has Needle Shot, which increases damage of the next attack by 5%. The only places I'd really recommend the 2 handers are at Tormented Demons and Dagannoth Kings. Typically, you'll want higher DPS, which dual wield can offer. If you have a bunch of enemies surrounding you, want to drain defence, want a single-click-switch or like Legacy pking, pick the 2H. The DPS it has is higher overall than 2H. If you know you're only fighting a single target, or if your targets aren't packed around you, pick dual wield. More AoE abilties - Cleave, Hurricane, and Quake Has access to Destroy, Havoc, and Decimate, which are all abilities allowing very high single-target DPS. One click to switch weapons, particularly useful in hybrid/tribrid situations. Higher damage for an auto attack (particularly the first one used before any abilities) This also builds 2% adrenaline, allowing for 1 less ability to be used before a threshold. "Fastest" speed weapons (which are ALWAYS single handed weapons aside from the Hexhunter bow from my understanding) allow for extra hits if an ability which does not do damage is used, such as Freedom, Anticipate, or Berserk. I'll be going through every style and which situations each is useful for. There’s also the player’s preference in play, so you can just use the weapon or equipment you want unless you do want to find the highest-damaging weapons.Ok so while I'm waiting for the servers to cool down and for me to get a nice new name, I'm gonna lay down some facts on all of you about the differences between dual wield and 2H weapons. Some character builds may surpass the numbers on this article on a different weapon. Also, this damage calculation is based on not having any bonuses added. They’re quite expensive, costing as much as thousands of OSRS gold coins, as they’re desirable equipment, especially being non-degradable. You can get Rune Equipment through the Grand Exchange as well. The wiki lists those creatures that drop this equipment, so check those out! Various creatures (members-only and not) may also drop this equipment. More Information on Rune EquipmentĪll rune equipment may be forged by any player who has sufficient levels in Smithing, except for crossbows, crossbow bolts, and darts which need levels in Fletching as well. If an offense is your main priority and you don’t need more defense, this weapon is your best bet. It also grants the use of some abilities such as Dazing Shot, which one-handed crossbow users can’t access. In compensation, it provides a base damage bonus, dealing more damage per hit. It’s slower than the normal crossbow, and being two-handed, you cannot use a shield or an off-hand weapon while using it. There’s only one weapon in this category, the Rune 2H Crossbow. Second to this is the Off-Hand Rune Throwing Axe, at 306 damage per 6 ticks, or 85 damage per second. Its damage cap on ammo is about 480 damage per 4 ticks, about 200 damage per second. On the off-hand, the Off-Hand Rune Crossbow can have the highest DPS, depending on its ammunition. ![]() Ranged Main/Off-Handįor the ranged weapons, on the main hand, the Rune Javelin has 745 damage per 6 ticks, matching the melee Battleaxe and Warhammer. However, they also have the slowest attack speeds, with a swing animation every 3.6 seconds. Calculating their DPS results in about 310 per second. They all deal 1,117 damage every 6 ticks. Two-HandedĪll rune two-handed weapons deal the same amount of damage, so it doesn’t matter which one to use. They’re offset with a rather slow attack speed animations swing about every 3.6 seconds. The ax and hammer have the same damage output, even when comparing their off-hand versions. Second best are the longsword and sword, with 204 damage per second. For melee users, Rune Battleaxes and Warhammers are tied with a good 745 damage per 6 ticks. ![]()
